Hello everyone! It’s been a while since we have posted any new information on this little weblog of ours, but boy do we have news today! InfoWest has been hard at work making improvements to the new webmail system, and our mail server in general. Here’s an overview of what we have done:
- We have upgraded our server to support IMAP connections.
- We have added support for SMTP authentication to our Outbound mail server.
- We have added SSL encryption support for POP, IMAP and SMTP connections.
- We have changed the “New Webmail” system so that it now logs in via IMAP.
What do these changes mean for you, our customers? First, and most importantly these changes allow the New Webmail system to use folders, including a “Trash” folder. These changes also allow customers to securely connect to our mail servers, even when using a different ISP, or when traveling. The IMAP upgrade also allows InfoWest email to be used on Blackberry phones, and allows email to be “pushed” immediately from the server to customers’ email programs. The IMAP upgrade also allows customers to share one email address among multiple computers easier.
The methods used to set up SSL, IMAP, and SMTP authentication vary from program to program, so if you wish to use any of these features in your email program, please contact us for assistance.

How can we use the new email when access to the new site is blocked each time we try to access the new email site.
It reads access to this site is forbidden.
Theold site works well.

I agree with Charles The old site worked. This way, I’ve not been able to find my e-mail.
